Kurz studií genocid

Unikátní vzdělávací kurz Studia genocid a masového násilí byl prvním kurzem svého druhu v České republice. Kurz byl vyučován v zimním semestru 2015/2016 na Evangelické teologické fakultě Univerzity Karlovy v Praze a byl otevřen všem studentům bakalářských a magisterských oborů UK. Účastníky kurzu byli studenti historie, politologie, religionistiky, psychologie, teologie, kulturní antropologie, sociologie, sociální práce, filozofie, lékařství a práva.

Kurz byl koncipován jako úvod do problematiky, teorií a metod oboru studií genocid (Genocide Studies) a zabýval se vznikem, vývojem a historií nejvýznamnějších případů genocidního násilí ve světových dějinách.

Kurz byl vyučován v angličtině mezinárodně uznávanými kapacitami. Hlavním lektorem kurzu byl expert na dějiny holocaustu a výuku o genocidách Dr. Paul A. Levine, spoluzakladatel Centra Hugo Valentina při univerzitě v Uppsale, jednoho z prvních center oboru studií genocid v Evropě.

Záznam přednášek Dr. Paula A. Levina, Dr. Gerharda Baumgartnera a Dr. Hayka Demoyana je k dispozici na kanálu YouTube „genocide studies„.

Absolvováním kurzu získali studenti rozsáhlé znalosti o:

  • příčinách a motivech genocid
  • některých nejvýznamnějších případech genocid a masového násilí
  • způsobech, jakými jsou tyto zločiny proti lidskosti reprezentovány v různých typech médií a umění
  • způsobech, jak může být tento předmět vyučován na různých vzdělávacích stupních

Kurz vznikl z iniciativy Výzkumného centra archeologie zla (od roku 2017 Centrum studií genocid Terezín), jehož posláním je podporovat všestranný rozvoj oboru studií genocid v České republice. Studia genocid jsou mezinárodním vědním oborem, který poskytuje vhled do problematiky příčin, průběhu a následků genocidního násilí.
